Angkor Wat is really only one of about 72 temples in the Angkor region
scattered over an area of about 75 square miles.
National Geographic has called these temples "some of the world's
most impressive monuments". They are pretty amazing. The temples were all
built
between about 900 and 1200 AD. It's estimated that during that time, the
area supported a civilization of
about one million people while London might've had 50,000
residents.
To visit the temples of Angkor Wat, you can buy a one-day, three-day, or
seven-day pass. The town closest to the temples of Angkor Wat is Siem Reap,
Cambodia. It's easy to fly into Siem Reap - it has an international airport.
I hope you enjoy my photos of Angkor Wat.
